Aramaic alphabet - The Aramaic alphabet is an abjad alphabet designed for writing the Aramaic language. As with other abjads, the letters all represent consonants; a few matres lectionis are consonants that also represent long vowels.
Samaritan alphabet - The Samaritan alphabet is a direct descendant of the paleo-Hebrew variety of the Phoenician alphabet, the more commonly known Hebrew alphabet having been adapted from the Aramaic alphabet under the Persian Empire. Large parts of the Hebrew Bible were originally penned in this script.
Sogdian alphabet - The Sogdian alphabet is derived from Syriac, the descendant script of the Aramaic alphabet.
Mandaic alphabet - The Mandaic alphabet is based on the Aramaic alphabet, and is used for writing the Mandaic language.
